Our Story

ShadeEats thrives to provide a private dining experience, different from any other. The Mission is to prepare an atmosphere filled with passion shown through the dishes. without depriving real, bold authentic flavors in an environment that exudes elegance, sophistication and comfort in dining with others.

It all started with a passion for the art of cooking. Shade, initially the food critique enjoyed talking about food and expressing her feeling about other people's food. She reveled in seeing the enjoyment and excitement in others when eating the food of other chefs, so much that she wanted those emotions for her own food.

Therefore, ShadeEats came into fruition.

Nigerian Cuisine in a fine dining setting is not greatly represented in today's market. My goal is to shed more light and initiate fresh conversation about West African ingredients and delicacies that breeds nostalgia, identity and deliciousness. Doing exactly this without depriving us from real authentic bold flavors that are deeply rooted in my culture.”,

My first love has always been food from my home country and with gratitude, I have grown to appreciate other cultural influences and I hope you enjoy my fusions.

I Hope To Dine With You Soon!

Chef Shade

Shade is a one-of-a-kind when in comes to culinary excellence. Born in London and raised in her native country of Nigeria. Shade, along with her family moved to the United States where she was brought up by diligent and hardworking parents.

Shade’s excitement for quality cooking led her to start a business in August of 2018 where she welcomed both the discomfort and enlightenment of growth.

Her greatest accomplishments was stepping out of the norm, walking by faith to pursue her culinary career. With a background in accounting, cooking was just something Shade did to escape from her mundane corporate world; working during the week and cooking evenings and weekends to support her passion.

Thankfully, although her step in faith and making a decision to change her life for the better was the hardest thing she’s ever done; she knows it was the best thing to do.

Her goal is to create innovative and inspire West-African dishes that fuse fine dining with the savory, unique and spicy flavors found throughout the continent.

If you’re looking for an infusion of great quality and unmatched taste with quality ingredients, you’ve found your chef!

“A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe.”
